Wimbledon 2012 4th Round Draw

Wimbledon 2011 DrawThe complete draw for the 4th round was held up by Andy Murray all the way until 11.02pm on Saturday. His 3rd round match with Marcos Baghdatis was almost forced to being suspended until Monday, however with just seconds to spare Murray completed a 4 set win to finalise his place in the last 16.

After the shock exit of Nadal in the second round, the third round did not throw up to many surprises despite losing 8 seeds. The highest seed to exit was 8th seed Janko Tipsarevic, he was dumped out by the 26th seed Mikhail Youzhny.

The only other household name to exit was 30th seed Andy Roddick, despite running away with th first set against 5th seed David Ferrer, the American was unable to sustain his form and Roddick lost in 4 sets. This could have been the last time we see him at Wimbledon as the word on the street is that Roddick will retire after this years US Open.

All 4th round matches will be played on Monday 2nd July, the first day of the second week. Of the top players Roger Federer should have the easiest of matches against unseeded veteran Xavier Malisse. Novak Djokovic will play his compatriate Viktor Troicki.

The bottom half of the draw is where we should see the best and closest of matches as 7th seed David Ferrer takes on 9th seed Juan Martin Del Potro and 5th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga faces 10th seed Mardy Fish.

Andy Murray will continue his challange for his first grand slam against 16th seed Marin Cilic, their head to head is in favour of Andy Murray.
