Wimbledon 2011 Quarter Final Draw

Wimbledon 2011 DrawWe’re down to the last 8 men at this years Wimbledon. The big 4 are not surprisingly all through to the quarter finals and they are joined by 10th seed Mardy Fish, 12th seed Jo-Wilfred Tsonga,  unseeded Feliciano Lopez and qualifier Bernard Tomic.

Although the fourth round gave us some really close matches, there was only one unexpected result, last years finalist was knocked in straight sets at the hands of  American Mardy Fish. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer were both tested and they needed 4 sets to get past Juan Martin Del Potro and Mikhail Youzhny respectively.

Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic both came through their matches in straight sets. The Qualifier Bernard Tomic continued his fine form with comfortable win over Xavier Malisse and Tsonga overcame the higher seeded David Ferrer. The comeback of the day award goes Feliciano Lopez who saved two match points as he came from two sets to love down to win 7-5 in the 5th set.

The quarter finals matches will be played on Wednesday, with Andy Murray facing Feliciano Lopez and Rafael Nadal taking on Mardy Fish in the top half of the draw.

In the bottom half of the draw Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is up next for Roger Federer and Bernard Tomic playing in his first grand slam quarter finals will face Novak Djokovic.
