US Open 2011 Quarter Final Draw

US Open 2011The draw for the quarter finals is eventually complete after rain wash out full days of play. The world’s top 4 players are joined by 4 others in the quarter finals of the 2011 US Open.

Novak Djokovic will face fellow serbian Janko Tipsarevic in the first of the quarter finals. The other quarter final in the top half of the draw will see a repeat of this years Wimbledon quarter final when 12th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga meets world number 3 Roger Federer. Tsonga came from 2 sets down to beat Federer, who has now not won a grand slam since 2010 Oz Open, that’s 6 failures so far. Can he turn things around this week or is Roger’s time up.

The USTA and the home crowds will be happy that 2 of the last 8 are American’s John Isner and Andy Roddick could potentially make up an all American semi-final if they win their two quarter final matches. That though would need Isner to overcome world number 4 Andy Murray and Andy Rodick beat world number 2 Rafael Nadal.
