Murray and Stakhovsky could potentially meet in the second round of the 2015 Wimbledon Championships. The pair last met in 2012 in Barcelona at the ATP 500 event with Murray the comfortable winner in straight sets. Though before that Murray and Stakhovsky have not played each other since 2009.
Their last meeting ended at another ATP 500 event, this time in Dubai ended in the third set with the Ukrainian Stakhovsky Retiring with the score at 5-3 to Murray.
That was the pairs closest match to date, the other two victories for Murray were straight sets win in Doha in 2009 and a Davis Cup match all the way back in 2006.
Sergiy Stakhovsky is from Kiev in Ukraine and is just over a year older than Andy Murray. As of April 2012 he has won 4 ATP titles, 3 on hard courts and 1 on grass. His last title came in August 2010 when he was victorious at the ATP 250 event in New Haven.
2010 was his best year, as well as his title in New Haven, he also won another ATP 250 event, this time on the grass courts at in s-Hertogenbosch, Holland. He finished that year at his highest ever year end ranking of 46 and also reached his highest ranking ever of 31 in September of that year.
Since then and before 2010 he has been floating around the the top 60 in the world. He has not reached an ATP event final since New Haven in 2010.
