Murray vs Gasquet Record / Head to Head

Richard Gasquet v Andy MurrayRichard Gasquet and Andy Murray’s have met on 5 occasions and their head to head record currently stands at 3-2 in Murray’s favour.

Andy Murray will have fond memories of playing Richard Gasquet, even though the Frenchman has beaten him twice in the five occasions they have played. That’s because he has won the last three meetings and came from two sets down to win the 2 of those matches.

Who can forget their epic match at Wimbledon 08 when Richard Gasquet served for the match with a 2 sets lead only for Andy Murray to come back and win in the most dramatic of circumstances. Murray would once again meet Gasquet at Wimbledon 2011, though this time it was a straight sets win for the Scot.

Murray would go on repeat this feat at 2010 French Open in front of the Frenchman’s home crowd.

Gasquet’s two wins over Murray came in 2007 and 2006, so Murray definitely has the recent winning edge of Gasquet. They were also set to meet in Dubai in 2009, but Murray had to pull out due to injury.

Richard Gasquet is currently a top 25 player, though was a top 10 player back in 2007. He has had a difficult time in recent years largely down to his  three-month doping suspension in 2009. In 2011 he recaptured some of his old form and since been in an around the top 25.
