Andy Murray secured Great Britain safe passage through to the quarter finals of this years Davis Cup with a 5 set win over Kei Nishikori. The Scot won 7-5 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 4-6 6-3 after almost 5 hours to giveĀ Great BritainĀ an unassailable 3-1 lead.

The tie was played in Dan Evans home town of Birmingham, which meant Andy Murray did rob Evans a deciding rubber against Taro Daniel, which would have been a very winnable tie. The win also stretches the run of “Complete Murray” wins to four, that’s Davis Cup matches won completely by Jamie and Andy Murray.
