2012 French Open Quarter Final Draw

The rain came to Paris in round 4 of this years French Open and despite a few matches being played over two days the quarter line up is ready on time and the last 8 of Roland Garros this year is now known.

Despite this years event producing some great matches as well as good stories there have been very little upsets so far. The top 6 seeds have made it all the way to the last 8, we only just missed out the top 8 seeds making it through as the 9th and 12th seed eliminated the 7th and 8th seed in round 4.

The first two matches will be played on Tuesday and they include world number 1 Novak Djokovic taking on the last Frenchman standing Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Roger Federer taking on Juan Martin Del Potro.

On Wednesday we will see Rafael Nadal in action against fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro and Andy Murray will face another Spaniard David Ferrer.

There was almost an upset in thr 4th round as Novak Djokovic needed to come back from 2 sets down to make the last 8. Both Andy Murray and Roger Federer needed 4 sets to get by their respective opponents. Nadal however breezed into the quarter finals with the loss of just two games against one of this years form players and 13th seed Juan Monaco.

Despite Djokovic problems in round 4 and the fact that he is facing the highest possible seed in the quarter final, he will enter as the strong favourite against Tsonga on clay. Similarly Nadal will be overwhelming favourite against Almagro. Federer and Murray though have massive against Del Potro and Ferrer respectively.
