2011 Cincinnati Masters 1000 1st Round Draw

2011 Cincinnati Masters

The draw for the 2011 Cincinnati Masters has been made giving both world number 3 Roger Federer and world number 4 Andy Murray very tough opening matches.

Murray will face either David Nalbandian or Kei Nishokiri in his first match. Whilst defending champion Roger Federer could face 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro in his first match in Cincinnati.

The top 8 seeds are all given first round byes and Federer has been drawn in the top half of the draw with world number 0ne Novak Djokovic, with Andy Murray and world number 2 Rafael Nadal in the bottom half of the draw.

Nadal, Federer and Murray all lost early last week in Montreal and all three players will be looking to gain some form to challenge the seemingly unstoppable Djokovic, who won his 5th masters event last week and ninth title in total for the year.

Djokovic currently has 53 wins and just 1 loss for the year so far and is unbeaten on hard courts and masters events. His only defeat coming in the semi finals at Roland Garros. He’ll open against either American Ryan Harrison or Argentina’s Juan Ignacio Chela.
